While I am still 2 finals and 1 paper away from the end of my junior year, I figure I’m close enough to warrant a little look-back on a year filled with ups and downs. Despite the downs (and there were downs), I can look back on this year and be happy. After thinking it all through, maybe its the downs that actually lead us to the ups?
1. LSAT score. LSAT score. LSAT score.
2. Spring Weekend (Week?) and remembering what makes college so fun
3. Fall football games, school spirit, and cute tanks
4. Did one amazing internship, and scored another for summer
5. Learning so much I feel my head will explode (Greek History! Literary Theory! Modern Architecture! Modernism! Islamic Art!), and realizing how lucky I am to be able to do so at an amazing school.
6. Having friends who are always there for you
7. Finding the perfect house for next year with my besties
8. Doing good for others.
9. Figuring out what matters, and what doesn’t.
10. Figuring out who I am, what I want, what I don’t want, and what I deserve. (or at least making some decent progress on it!)
In retrospect, this year was really, really hard for a variety of reasons. But I not only made it to the other side, I also accomplished a lot for myself and my future through hard work and dedication in the meantime.
And now I can look forward to the ups of senior year, including having my car! a kitchen! no more dorm bathrooms! no more dining hall food! being 21! and parties (oh, there will be many parties). After all, YOLO.
